Review Dyson Vacuums
You will find reviews of all of the current ‘Animals’ in the Dyson stable below. Instead of the ‘dry’ specifications type review, I’ve attempted to give real ‘user’ type reviews.
All of the Dyson Animal Vacuums come with the same accessories so I won’t bother explaining them on every review page. However, I’ll list them below.
Feel free to view write-ups on this site covering purchasing a remanufactured Dyson. The savings can add up to 100’s of dollars and all of the vacuums have been completely refurbished at the Dyson factory.
There is also a Dyson video page. Feel free to check it out as well.
Finally, feel free (and please do) leave a comment at the bottom of the page. I read and respond to all comments and it will help me to serve you better. If you’d like to see something added to a review or a video added to the library, that will not be a problem.

I have a Dyson Animal and had it for about a year now. There is a couple of problems with it. I clean the little sponge filter like the directions say. An I clean the brush roller periodically. On thing I can honestly say I’m a clean freak and I like to take things apart and I have taken the Dyson canister completely apart and clean it and I can tell you that in the end the Dyson will give out on suction eventually. The dust that was caked up was gross and very bad fore your lungs luckily I wore a face filter mask. Plus I have had my Dyson serviced many times for the plastic pieces breaking. An if you look closely the Dyson at to or three points were the hose lines that lead into the canister connect you will see rubber joints which when they give which they will the Dyson will loose suction. Plus they do that so you can unclog the thing every time you vacuum when you get those big hair balls stuck in the tubes then what? Talk about not being able to vacuum long with it either because you get to the fill line to quick and if you don’t watch it, it will clog all those holes in the cyclone compartments then you really loose suction! So all in all after my spill I am un happy with my Dyson I vacuum my house with it twice a week. So I finally went to my mothers and barrowed here Kirby Gsix. Bless USA technology you have got to remember people Kirby has been around for years! They have more technology and Patients then Dyson’s creator ever will. This is there specialty and here’s my rap sheet on the Kirby. So, I use my mom’s Kirby and I have never see my blue carpet look so good! The Kirby is made out of metal and alloys mostly so durability it’s got Dyson beat you might like the Dyson now but wait until it breaks! Then go and spend another $500.00 oh! look you just spent the amount you would have just about on a Kirby. The suction tube on the Kirby in the cloth bag is 4 times bigger then Dyson’s oh look no clog hair ball in the tubes….An the seal that the Kirby makes on the carpet actually if you lean it back it picks the carpet up of the pad just enough before releasing it the Dyson does not even come close. An if you look under the vacuum of the Kirby you can take the roller brush off and turn it on Number 1,2,3 to make it barley touch the carpet even if you have it all they way down on the carpet that way you get the seal and don’t beat you carpet to death. I even went as far as vacuuming my living room for two hours with the Dyson and it’s a small mobile home space and then I took my mom’s Kirby and did it for the same amount of time. Man I’m a clean freak ain’t I? But proving my point lo and behold nice pile of fine, fine dust was in the bag man I love that Kirby! So I’m buying one and selling my Dyson on EBay! After all that I have said this is my experience with Dyson and it has been disappointing but I would recommend the Dyson for elderly people over the Kirby because of the weight. Other than that it’s really made me happy but like I did everyone should do there own experiment to see for themselves whether or not what vacuum works for them that’s all I got to say and sorry for my spelling but that’s allot of typing….loll
